Reggio Children weaves its publishing with the design of exhibitions and ateliers and professional development and research. In collaboration with Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia*, it promotes exchanges and reflections on children’s cultural creativity and on the determining role of education and public schooling in contemporary society.
Many of these books and videos present images, drawings and texts by teachers, atelieristas and pedagogistas, and by children in Reggio Emilia’s municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools.
Writing in which words and images are often interwoven, making visible and perceivable an unusual image of childhood. A new and hybrid language that declares and supports the value and the importance of the aesthetic dimension of knowledge.
